In reply to Noeli. I wanted to reply again to say that Milani has updated their site! Now when you are on a product that has vegan shades, it will say "vegan" or not in the little pop-up that appears when you click a shade!

Okay, this is AWESOME. I’m a rookie to the cruelty-free lifestyle (as well as a makeup madwoman), and I’m touched and inspired to see how much you cared about this issue, following through over several months when others might have not. I was going to abandon the brand until seeing this article. So thank you!

After a time when it was starting to feel like every other month a new brand was losing it’s cruelty free stance this is certainly uplifting news, thank you soooo much for posting about it Tashina!!! I’ve never owned a Milani product but now that they have a page listing their vegan products I’m going to go over to it immediately and try to purchase at least something of theirs from the drugstore on my way home today 🙂

In reply to Noeli. Hi Noeli, I noticed this too. From what I understand, the vegan section links to products that have vegan options. This does not mean that all shades of those products are vegan. You would still need to look at the ingredients for each individual product. I think that this would be good feedback for them to receive. It is confusing to click a product link from a page that says vegan and find that it may contain an animal ingredient depending on the shade.

Thanks for this new update, i went to check their website to check out the new vegan section. I noticed that bella eyes gel powder eye-shadows were listed as vegan but contain carmine. I don’t know about everyone else but that to me isn’t vegan. I used to love Milani, but they have left a not so good taste in my mouth. Thanks again for this info Tashina i know you were working hard to get some clear answers.
