Hi,

Today I received the Sin afterglow 8-hour highlighter + blush palette by Urban Decay, that I ordered online. I always thought Urban Decay was a vegan brand so I didn’t even check the ingredients before ordering that palette. And now I just found out it contains carmine… I feel like screaming! I don’t want to use something that contains carmine [ this ingredient is totally unnecessary and gross, and it should have been banned long ago anyway, it’s unbelievable companies are still using carmine nowadays — all makeup products should be without animal ingredients ] so I’m trying to figure out which shade/s in this palette contain carmine and which ones I can use that don’t contain carmine… I have no idea how to contact the company directly or how to ask them directly, so I hope someone here could contact the company and ask them which one/s of all 6 shades included in the Sin palette – Kiss Off, Score. Paranoid, PSA. Spotlight, Sin – contain carmine and which ones are carmine-free/vegan. I’d highly appreciate if somebody could find out and let me know in a reply…

From now on, I will check the ingredient list for every single makeup product I order, even the products from companies that are vegan!

Hi! Isn’t the vice lip shade Fuel 2.0 also vegan? And I thought all the lip liners were too?

Hi! I have a question, is the Vice lipstick in the shade Fuel 2.0 vegan? I know the in store display showed it as such, and online it did not..I chatted w a rep online and they mentioned it was vegan, but now I can’t find it on your list, any thoughts? Also are none of the lip liners vegan??? I thought they all were (or at least mostly were)?

Hi! I just spoke with a rep at UD and she confirmed that the Vice lipstick shades in Asphyxia and Faith are both vegan as well.

In reply to Leigh. I agree that it's confusing how it's mentioned, but carmine is listed under +/-. I think it was an oversight to include "contains carmine" as well. I've talked to the brand about this and some shades do contain carmine but some are also vegan and do not. Their in-store displays also note these shades as vegan as well.

In reply to Leigh. Hi! On the website, carmine is listed under +/- (may or may not contain) because not all shades are vegan. This lets them use one ingredient list for all the shades, vegan or not. But the shades listed here are confirmed vegan by the brand and do not contain carmine.

Thanks for putting this list together! Just wondering why the Hi-Fi lip gloss is listed here when the Urban Decay website states that it contains carmine?

In reply to Poppy Wood. Hi Poppy! It's as updated as I am able to get. Sometimes it takes a bit for new shades/ranges to be confirmed by the brand.
