It seems like it has been updated and they have been able to come up with alternative testing methods on lab produced “skin”, and are also able to not have to test on shampoos and makeup in China. Maybe it finally has been updated properly? Should we be reconsidering their stance now??? I’m not going to feel comfortable using L’Oreal brands until it’s approved on your blog!!!!

If so, I will return the product & not touch L’Oreal again. ? Are you able to confirm? Many thanks.

You have confirmed what I knew about L’Oreal. I cannot support a company that feels it is okay to test on animals for the almighty dollar.

My BF uses Kiehls. I am not ok with him using those products bc the parent company is Loreal. Am I wrong to take this stance? Thanks for your help in advance

From my understanding of the post, L’Oreal is not cruelty-free because they allow animal testing in places around the world that require it by law, and China is one of those places, correct? BUT what is the stance on animal testing in the states? I’m transitioning into a vegan and cruelty-free lifestyle, and I really love the L’Oreal true match foundation because of the great shade range they have for brown girls like me, and until I basically find the vegan and creulty-free version of that I will continue to use it. Additionally, their stance on animal testing in the states will help me progress that decision.

Hi Vanessa,

Their recent statements still state that they do test when required by law. 🙁

Do you have any extra light you can shed on me about this? Thank you and i think its amazing that you dedicate so much time to educate people on being cruelty free!

Nutratint is my all time FAVORITE hair dye. I starting using it prior to going cruelty free. It has absolutely no smell and I get so many compliments on the color. I say give it a try. You can purchase it at Whole Foods, Mothers and Spouts. I buy it in bulk (6 boxes) online, so it comes out to about $10.00 a box.

Secondly, girls do not think that Loreal is ever e-v-e-r- going to stop the nonsense.
If Loreal stopped testing it would be like saying I stopped picking flowers out of the yard. But because all of the flowers were already picked!

Then a new flower would grow…..but oh just this once!
