I read your article about NYX being cruelty free and I purchased some products. I was very upset when I noticed later that the products are made in China. That means that they are tested on animals, right? Please check the information is correct.

In reply to Dra. This would be a better question for the brand, but I will say that not all brands feel the need to have or use a cruelty-free logo. There are so many out there and not all of them are widely recognized.

In reply to Blanka. Everyone feels differently about this, and that's okay. I personally want to help people find as many cruelty-free brands as possible so that, no matter where they are on their cruelty-free journey, it feels like something that's easy to do. At the end of the day, I think that supporting any cruelty-free brand is better than supporting a brand that is not.

But if I buy NYX’s products, the money will go to L’Oréal. So I am supporting not cruelty free company..? I know this is everyone’s choice but there are so many cruelty free companies that we should reinforce

In reply to Liss. I believe that The Body Shop was recently sold to a 100% cruelty-free company in Brazil. Probably why they've undergone such a huge change in packaging, marketing image etc.

Does NYX pay China to test on animals?

NYX cannot claim to be cruelty free when their parent company is testing on animals. NYX are funding this indirectly. In addition to this if any of their products contain animal products how can they guarantee that this is not obtained cruelly? Any parts of animals contained in their products will no doubt be bi-products of the meat/dairy industry’s both if which are cruel.

But what confuse me is that none of their lip products are labeled with the cruelty free bunny sign anymore. Why would they remove it by themself? Don’t make sense so they had to for lying to us. I don’t trust them anymore.

In reply to Tashina Combs. That's interesting. I was wondering the same thing. I personally don't buy product that are owned by companies that test on animals. For example, I stopped buying products from The Body Shop for this very reason. I had no idea that NYX was owned by L'Oreal. This is such sad news. I love their products, but I can't continue to buy their products any longer. Lets face it the money is going to a company that knowingly tests on animals, and L'Oreal is one of the biggest animal testing cosmetic companies out there. Such a shame! x
