The Best Cruelty-Free Razors

Looking for a cruelty-free razor to add to your hair removal routine? There are a handful of options out there.

When it comes to a cruelty-free beauty routine, an often overlooked product is cruelty-free razors. It doesn’t seem like a product that would be tested on animals, right? But many brands who make razors make other products too, and many mainstream shaving brands test on animals. If you’re vegan, add to that the fact that most brands also use moisturizing strips that contain ingredients derived from animals, such as lanolin. It can feel impossible to find a cruelty-free razor. But don’t get discouraged – there’s hope out there!

Thankfully, there are cruelty-free razors out there that work great and are also vegan-friendly too. There are also lots of great cruelty-free and vegan shaving creams as well. Most of them you might have to order online or check your local natural foods store for, but they are getting easier and easier to find.

    1. Hi!

This is a great question! I know that Giovanni, Kiss My Face, and Trader Joe’s all make vegan shaving creams. I like the Giovannia shaving cream for sensitive skin. Conditioner is another great option too. I hope this helps!

  1. Totally great article! Did NOT know about my vegan options for razors – but that’s the goal for all veg*ns rite? Always trying to do better than you did the day before 🙂

  2. I’ve been using my Preserve razor for about a year now and I like it too! Even though it only has a few blades, it doesn’t nick me as much as a 5 blade razor used to. Now that my town has a Natural Grocers, I don’t have to buy them online anymore.

  3. Great post, Tashina. You are absolutely right that this is an area that is often over looked. I love the preserve razors (& their toothbrushes too)! I discovered them at a health food store in Brooklyn a few years back & have been using them ever since. I like to shave with the Alba shave cream, but I want to see what Lush has for shaving too – everything there smells so yummy!

  4. This is a great post. I had quite a bit of laser hair removal but I still shave like once a month. I did not know that that the moisture strips could be tested on animals. How shameful! I see “preserve” razors at Whole Foods so I will buy that next time I am there. Thank you for informing us! xo
